Albanian convicted of murder backed by Belgian wife through a letter to Court

 An Albanian convicted for murder in Belgium is protected by his Belgian wife, who has sent a letter to at the last court hearing. Erjon S. has been convicted of killing a prostitute, but his wife says in a letter that despite his criminal past, he is a wonderful and dedicated father.

"My husband is a wonderful man and a loving father. My children do not have close to their father and cry at night. Each evening he calls us to ask us how we spent the day. We visit him every week in prison. We know he has made mistakes, but I love my husband - the Albanian wife writes on paper.

Erjon S., accused of co-operating in the murder of a prostitute a few years ago in Italy and was sentenced in absentia for life imprisonment, but after the reopening of the case his sentence was reduced to 17 years in prison. Following the crime in the Italian state, he fled to Belgium where he created a new life by acquiring Belgian citizenship by false names and changed birthdays.

The 40-year-old lived in Geluwe where he married and became the father of three children, two sons and one daughter. For nine years no one had realized that he was actually another person and was wanted by the Italian state until discovered by the authorities. The Italian Court enabled for him to carry out the sentence in Belgium. The next judicial session against him is scheduled on November 12.
