European Commission Fund to give to Greece 19.2 billion euros

Greece is expected to receive 19.2 billion euros from the European Commission of Development budget for 2021-2027, according to proposals published on Wednesday by the EU's executives.

Brussels has advanced with the changes in its Regional Development and Cohesion Policy for 2021-2027, shifting a large share of support funds from central and eastern Europe to countries such as Greece, Spain and Italy.

"The cohesion policy will continue to invest in all regions and across Europe, including rich member countries, which have stepped up efforts to reach out the industrial transition, fight unemployment and maintain a globalized economy," according to a Commission statement.
