Xhafer Mata is the 31-year-old who shot and killed the 19-year-old girl Xhuljeta Çuni.
Xhafer Mata was from Kukës and lived in Tirana while the young girl was from Mat. The circumstances of this serious event are still unknown, but police have launched investigations.
It is suspected that the couple had intimate relationships with one another and that at the moment of the murder Çuni was accompanied by another girl. |

Xhafer Mata was married. Because of disagreement he has been separated, and from this marriage he has a boy of about 1 year old. Rumors suggest that he left his wife because fell deeply in love with Çuni.
He lived in his apartment, along with his parents, who take care of his little boy.
Friday morning Xhafer Mata shot twice in the direction of Juljeta Cuni and then to himself. The girl has died immediately at scene, while the aggressor was transported to the Trauma Hospital, where he died after a few hours in Reanimation.
POLICE NOTICE
On 08.06.2018, around 08:10, in the area of Don Bosko, at Eshref Frasheri Street, the citizen Xh.M.,31 years old, is suspected of shooting with a pistol gun the citizen Xh.Ç., about 19 years old , which found immediate death at the scene.
Mata then fired himself and was transported to the hospital in serious condition, when he later died.
The investigative group is on the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances and causes of the incident.
In the same way has been killed a couple in Tirana about 5 month ago, at the Medical Faculty of Tirana, where a 23-year old boy shot dead a 21-year old girl because she refused to be his girlfriend.
