Scandal in selling babies in Macedonia, Prosecution interviewing state officials

Two officials employed at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy in Macedonia were questioned by the Public Prosecutor's Office. As TV24 announces, it is about a pre-trial procedure relating to an issue that has been opened in the prosecutor's office regarding information that is required money from the couples wanting to adopt babies.

So far has been interviewed the official who has been accused directly of having received money as well as another, as a representative of this Ministry.

A few days ago, the scandal relating to the sale of babies broke out, as Kuzmanovska from Skopje denounced publicly that in 2013 officials asked to her 2000 euros in order for her to adopt a baby. She initially agreed to pay the amount, thinking it was a legal fee. Having realized that it was a bribe, she refused to pay and was not allowed to adopt the baby.

Shortly thereafter, she was charged and convicted of "domestic violence".

Even the People's Advocate of Macedonia has also opened up cases of abuses in adopting infants. He is convinced that the Clinic of Gynecology is implicated in cases of abortion and childbearing.

The People's Advocate is investigating the destination of these babies.
