Greek media disclosure 5 proposals for Macedonia's name

From the time when Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias announced that Macedonia's name dispute proposal was sent to Skopje, Greek media, including "Katimerini" and "Te Nea", have published five possible proposals relating to the name of Macedonia.

The name issue between Greece and Macedonia has been raised by the time when Macedonia declared its independence from Yugoslavia in 1991. The Greeks pretends that Macedonia is an Helenic name and is not related to today's Macedonia. While the Macedonians on the other side pretend they are part ot the history of Alexander the Great.

However Greek media say the proposals are the same as those submitted by UN negotiator Matthew Nimetz.

Greece's five proposals on the name issue of Macedonia:

1. Republic of Northern Macedonia

2. Republic of New Macedonia

3. Republic of Upper Macedonia

4. Republic of Macedonia of Vardar

5. Republic of Macedonia (Skopje)
