Serbian media have reacted after the statement of the State Department for Diaspora Minister, Pandeli Majko, as they commented on what he said at the Albanian Diaspora economic forum.

With the title "Provokacija", "Provocation of Albania, the minister called on Kosovo on January 1, 2018 to open the borders", the Serbian newspaper "Blic" reacted after this statement, which according to it, this encourages the opening of borders between Albania and Kosovo.

According to Blic, the Pristina newspaper "Koha Ditore" reported that Majko, the former prime minister of Albania, during the NATO bombing in Serbia, "spoke on behalf of the current Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama" on Saturday.

Majko said that in 1999 "when Albania opened the borders with Kosovo Albanians, nobody asked for passports from the world and that there is no need for documents now".

"We, Albanians on the other hand are looking forward to open the border by January 2018. We will do this European action," Majko said.

Koha Ditore said that his speech is welcomed by the people gathered in the hall and added that Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj and Hashim Thaci also headed to the rally.

"By January, in 2018, we Albanians of the other side are looking forward for you to open the borders. Let's do this European action," said Majko, speaking also on behalf of Prime Minister Edi Rama, at the economic forum of the Albanian Diaspora.
