Kadare writes to Vllahutin: You came to help this country, you were rewarded with insults

The great Albanian writer Ismail Kadare addressed a letter to the EU ambassador in Tirana, Romana Vlahutin, after the threats against her by Kastriot Myftaraj.

Letter to Romana Vlahutin, EU Ambassador to Albania

Honored Lady,

Let me address you with this completely personal letter about the shock that caused to me today the unscrupulous insult that was publicly made against you in the Albanian press.

It is not about to explain here what is the insult of an improper man and how little has to do with entire nation and society.

However, that insult was published by the press of my country, so in one way or another makes all of as  responsible.

Although a well-known writer, I do not undertake to answer for what may happen in this country for good or for worse.

I just want to share with you the grief that a man can feel, who, in the country she goes to help in overcoming the worries, faces such ingratitude.

Dear Romana Vlahutin, I would be ready to apologize your on my knees in order to ensure that gratitude for you is and will be inviolable.
