Albanian business towards liberalized energy market

About 6300 large businesses consuming electricity from the 35 and 20 kilovolt networks will approach the liberalized electricity market very soon.

The government prepared all legal and technical infrastructure.

Entela Çipa, Energy Minister's advisor says to RTSH that it is foreseen that "... at the end of June for all customers who want to exit the technical procedure ish completed. Then in September there will be no technical and legal obstacles to the liberalized market."

The liberalization of the price of electricity brings some benefits to consumers. Not only the price reduction for a kilowatt but the quality of supply will be different from what today's public power providers offer. The law also defines the two-month term in which is guaranteed to these entities the supply by OSHEE as the last-resort supplier.

Entela Çipa, Minister's Advisor, expresses the hope that market prices will be better than currently.

Is the Albanian Association of Electricity Suppliers who dealt with this law requirement, and brought their experience and energy market experts from Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia and Turkey. Albanian business representatives demanded transparency from the Electricity Regulatory Authority and have repeatedly demanded more time to enter the free energy market./Oculus News
