Albanian commandos going to Afghanistan mission

 A contingent of the Commando Battalion of the Albanian Armed Forces are gone to the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan as part of NATO's Operation "Resolute Support Mission".

The fourth peacekeeping contingent will serve for a period of 6 - month and will act depending on the composition and the Turkish Regional Command in Kabul.

At the ceremony  the Minister of Defence said that Albania with its policies all these years has shown that knows how to be a good neighbor and a worthy ally of the NATO side. Minister Kodheli, this time chose a special way to greet the troops participating in the mission, congratulated by them personally one by one.

According to her, is not in vain that Ministry of Defense is ranked first by Albanian citizens on confidence and transparency.

Present at the partocopating ceremony was also Turkey's Ambassador to Albania, Hidayet Bayraktar, who said the Turkish Armed Forces and Albanian Armed Forces have increased their performance on defense, showing the close relationship between our peoples, based on fraternal relationships. He pointed that some 6 thousand servicemen of Armed Forces were trained during this period Turkish Armed Forces. Bayraktar expressed his belief that the new unit that will leave for Kabul, will best fulfill its tasks as well as the three previous contingents.
