Although a day before Prime Minister Rama excluding changes in Government, today he has replaced the Minister of Finance, Shkëlqim Cani and in his place appointed Arben Ahmetaj.
Instead of the latter, in charge of the Ministry of Economy is appointed Milva Ekonomi, which until now held the post of Deputy Minister of Health.
This change is the first significant movement in the Cabinet Rama. The Ministry of Finance has been the focus of strong criticism because of poor performance and failed economic management in these three years of left Government. Cani, now is already back in the Assembly, as he had not submitted deuptetit mandate as his Ministers peers.Changes in government are asked continuisly by LSI, but Rama had not acted until today. LSI and Ilir Meta have been especially critical of the government's economic performance.
LSI changed its Minister of Justice some time ago, hoping that would clear the way for other movements. A dinner of Meta with Edi Rama about three weeks ago and two strong Prime meetings with his Cabinet and parliamentary group representatives had announced the movement of today. According to Lapsi.al sources, these changes will be followed by other movements in the near future.
