Tirana: World Bank values the Albanian economy

 The World Bank said today in Tirana that half of Albania's economic growth for the first half of 2018 came from only electricity generation.

In a regional economic report released today, the World Bank said Albania's public debt continues to remain high, while foreign direct investment is falling.

The World Bank predicted a 4 per cent growth for Albania's economy after rising electricity production.

The estimates are part of the regional economic report for the Western Balkan countries.

According to the World Bank, the economic growth added new jobs and reduced poverty.

After that, the Bank expects to reduce public debt and primary fiscal deficit, and estimated that fiscal consolidation increased public spending efficiency, althow the structural reforms continues to be of major importance for sustainable and equitable economic growth.
