Albania signed an extradition treaty with Britain and Ireland

Justice Minister Petrit Vasili hosted an official meeting with the Minister of State for Security in the UK Ben Wallace.

The purpose of this visit is related with the signing of "the Extradition Agreement between the Republic of Albania and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland", an act that fulfills the legal framework between the two countries in the implementation of the European Convention of Extradition of 1957.

At the end of the signing ceremony of this agreement, the Minister of Justice, Petrit Vasili appreciated its importance to the further deepening of bilateral relations.

"The signing of this agreement is one more mechanism in the hands of law enforcement agencies that will enable the intensification of the fight against organized crime and bringing to justice the criminal subjects wanted for years...," Vasili said.

Minister of State for Security Ben Wallace said that "the signing of this agreement will enable the extradition of Albanian citizens from Albania to the United Kingdom.

This will ensure that those who commit serious criminal offenses in the UK and leave the country, to be brought to justice. This is further evidence of increasing our cooperation with Albania in the fight against organized crime."/Oculus News
