TAP: Pipeline ready for the Albanian-Greece section

 The construction project of Natural Gaz pipeline Trans Adriatic is ready to start laying the pipeline in land sections of the project in Albania and Greece.

According officials sources these days have been signied engineering, procurement and construction contracts  for the pipeline in the territory of Albania and Greece with a length of about 760 km.

The works will be carried out by French, Greek and Italian construction companies. In Albania the pipeline crosses 215 kilometers from Bilishti, southeast, towards Seman zone in the Adriatic.

A year ago the project, TAP in Albania entered into several contracts for the construction and improvement of secondary roads and bridges. In regions of Korca, Berat and Fier are performed works that have improved road segments and have opened new routes for the pipeline.

About 51 km of new roads is expected to be derived from these works and 40 km of existing roads will be improved by affecting the lives of residents in these areas.

In Durres port is expected the transporting of around 13 thousand steel tubular  segments, which will be distributed to the gas pipeline route that passes in three regions of Korca, Berat and Fier.

TAP will transport natural gas from the giant Shah Deniz II field in Azerbaijan to Europe. The pipeline, 878 km long, will connect with the Trans Anatolian Pipeline (TANAP) at the Turkish-Greek border of Kipoi, passing through Greece and Albania and the Adriatic Sea, before arriving on the shores of southern Italy.

TAP project is expected to boost economic development and job creation along the pipeline and will be a major source of foreign direct investment.

After raw gas sales in Georgia and Turkey, aimed at end-2018, according to the company, the money flows in Europe is expected to begin approximately in 2020.
