Kosovo’s 15-Year-Old Weightlifting Sensation Emily Ibáñez Guerrero Breaks Three Youth World Records in China

 Kosovo’s rising weightlifting star Emily Ibáñez Guerrero has delivered an outstanding performance at the competition in Ningbo, China, finishing fifth in the women’s 69 kg category at just 15 years old.

 

The young athlete recorded a 106 kg snatch and a 134 kg clean and jerk, achieving an impressive combined total of 240 kg. She finished just 5 kg short of the senior podium, competing against considerably more experienced athletes.

Despite narrowly missing out on a medal, Ibáñez Guerrero achieved an extraordinary milestone by improving her own youth world records in all three disciplines: the snatch, clean and jerk, and total.

Her performance in Ningbo further underlines her enormous potential and establishes her as one of the most promising young talents in international weightlifting.

At only 15, the Kosovo-linked athlete is already making her mark on the international stage, offering an exciting glimpse of what could lie ahead in her sporting career.
