Woman challenges Sheta over alleged staged incident
During the confrontation, the woman reportedly challenged Sheta over an earlier incident in which he allegedly collapsed and appeared to lose consciousness during a protest. Police colleagues were said to have assisted him, including through mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
The account alleges that Sheta was subsequently detained by members of Albania’s Special Operational Force (FNSH) but released after reportedly stating that he lived in the Student City area.
The circumstances of the alleged incident and the reasons for his reported release have not been independently verified.
Allegations raise questions about protesters’ trust
The accusations come amid continuing student-led demonstrations against Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government, where tensions between protesters and police have intensified.
Claims that undercover informants are operating among demonstrators could deepen mistrust between protesters and law enforcement. However, the allegations against Sheta should not be treated as established fact without independent confirmation.
The footage and the claims surrounding it add another contentious element to Albania’s protests, as demonstrators continue to demand accountability and raise concerns about police conduct.
