The Association of Albanian Journalists (AGSH) has condemned a direct death threat against journalist Osman Stafa, who reportedly received a threatening message on Facebook.

According to a complaint filed with the State Police Directorate for Cybercrime Investigations, Stafa was sent messages stating: “Remember, I will kill you” and “I guarantee you this.”
The threat is suspected to be connected to video footage published by Stafa during the September 8 protest near Albania’s Parliament. The footage documented the actions of several people in civilian clothes during the detention of a protester.
AGSH described the threats as a serious attack on press freedom and on citizens’ right to receive information.
The case has reportedly been referred to the relevant cybercrime authorities for investigation.
