TETOVO, NORTH MACEDONIA — The Democratic Union for Integration (BDI) branch in Tetovo has called for the immediate publication of official water-quality analyses after NPK “Sharri” warned residents of Poroj, Xhepçisht, Golema Reçica and Mala Reçica that their water is not safe for drinking.

According to BDI Tetovë, no official IPH report has been published showing the results of the water tests or identifying the specific contamination detected.
BDI Demands Official IPH Reports
BDI Tetovë says that residents should be provided with the complete laboratory analyses for each of the four settlements.
The party argues that official reports should include the date and location where samples were collected, microbiological parameters and any detected bacteria, parasites or other potentially harmful microorganisms.
“Citizens need to know what was found and which parameters, if any, exceeded the permitted standards,” BDI Tetovë said.
The party maintains that in previous cases, such warnings were accompanied by original laboratory reports rather than being communicated solely through social media.
Allegations Over NPK “Sharri” Billing
BDI Tetovë has also raised concerns over the possibility that the water-safety warning could be connected to a dispute over the inclusion of the four settlements in the NPK “Sharri” billing system.
The party claims that the water-supply systems serving these communities were financed and are currently maintained by local residents themselves.
BDI says that if the official reports remain unpublished, there would be grounds to question whether concerns over public health are being used as leverage in the dispute over water billing.
These claims have not been independently established.
BDI Threatens Criminal Complaint
The political party has gone further, warning that it will file a criminal complaint against those responsible if it is established that the warning was issued without documented evidence from the competent public-health institution.
BDI Tetovë says it will seek full legal accountability if the warning ultimately proves to have been unfounded.
“Intimidating citizens cannot be used as a tool for blackmail and collecting money,” the party stated.
The controversy now centers on one key issue: whether official IPH laboratory results support NPK “Sharri’s” warning that the water in the four Tetovo villages is unsafe for drinking.
Until the complete analyses are made public, residents and the wider public have limited access to the scientific evidence underlying the warning.
