New Case Amid Investigation Into Deadly Fire
The latest case comes as Jacques and Jessica Moretti remain under investigation over the circumstances surrounding the deadly fire at Le Constellation.
Jacques Moretti was previously placed in temporary detention on January 9 because authorities considered him a potential flight risk. He was released on January 23 after paying a 200,000 Swiss franc bail, while remaining subject to restrictions.
Investigators are still examining whether fire-safety regulations were followed and what responsibility, if any, lies with the owners and other individuals involved.
According to the investigation so far, the fire reportedly began when sparks from fireworks placed in bottles ignited soundproofing material on the basement ceiling.
The latest arrest adds another legal development to a case already marked by one of Switzerland's most devastating recent tragedies.
