The Albania U-19 women’s national team, led by coach Daniela Kodra, discovers its path forward after being drawn into Group B1 alongside Latvia, Cyprus, and Moldova for the initial qualifying round.
During Thursday’s draw held at UEFA headquarters, the Albanian side was placed in Group B1 of League B alongside Latvia, Cyprus and Moldova. The draw marks the beginning of Albania’s qualification campaign as the young Red and Blacks aim to secure promotion to League A for the second round of the competition.

The team, coached by Daniela Kodra, will compete against the three nations in a mini-tournament format, with the objective of finishing in a position that would allow them to move up to the higher division and continue their European Championship journey against stronger opposition.

For Albania’s emerging generation of female footballers, the qualifiers represent an important opportunity to gain international experience and showcase the continued development of women’s football in the country.

The host nation for the qualifying mini-tournament has not yet been determined. UEFA confirmed that the venue will be selected through an agreement between the four participating football federations. The official match dates and tournament schedule are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Women's football in Albania has experienced steady growth in recent years, with increasing investment in youth development and national team structures. The U-19 squad will now begin preparations for what could be a crucial stage in its effort to reach the elite level of European youth football.

Albania will be hoping to make a strong start in Group B1 and secure promotion to League A, keeping alive its ambitions of advancing further in the UEFA Women's Under-19 European Championship 2026-27 qualification process.
