Authorities in Tirana announced the conclusion of a targeted police operation led by Police Station No. 1, aimed at solving a series of home burglaries reported across the city during recent months. The operation, code-named “Gracka,” resulted in the arrest of two suspects believed to be responsible for at least nine residential thefts.

According to the official police statement, the suspects, identified by initials I.G., 34, and A.M., 39, were detained on “Panorama e Liqenit” street while allegedly traveling on a motorcycle suspected to have been stolen. During the operation, officers reportedly found burglary tools, stolen items, cold weapons, and other illegal objects in their possession. Investigators believe the suspects were preparing to commit additional criminal acts at the time of their arrest.

Police investigations have linked the two men to the theft of large sums of money, valuables, electronic equipment, and other personal belongings stolen from nine different homes over the past several months in Tirana. Authorities also confirmed that both individuals had previous criminal records, including convictions for violent theft and crimes against persons.

The operation marks another effort by Albanian law enforcement agencies to combat property crime and improve public safety in the capital. Investigators say work is ongoing to determine whether the suspects may be connected to other unsolved burglaries. The case has now been transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office for further legal proceedings.
