Luxury Audi SQ8 Stolen in Italy Smuggled Into Albania, 44-Year-Old Suspect Identified in Tirana

A 44-year-old man is under criminal investigation after authorities in Tirana uncovered a luxury vehicle stolen in Italy and allegedly brought to Albania for resale.

Albanian police announced that officers from the Tirana Police Directorate successfully identified and initiated legal proceedings against a suspect connected to the trafficking of a stolen vehicle across borders. The investigation was carried out as part of the ongoing police operation codenamed “Stolen Line.”

During the operation, law enforcement officers seized an Audi SQ8, estimated to be worth approximately €50,000. Following verification procedures with international databases and relevant authorities, investigators confirmed that the luxury SUV had been reported stolen in Italy before being transported into Albania.

Authorities identified the suspect as V. T., 44 years old, who is believed to have imported the vehicle into Albania with the intention of selling it on the domestic market. Officials say the case highlights continuing efforts to combat cross-border vehicle trafficking and organized criminal activity involving stolen assets.

The procedural materials related to the investigation have been forwarded to the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office, where further legal actions and investigative steps are expected in the coming days. Cases involving stolen vehicles remain a priority for Albanian and European law enforcement agencies due to their connection with wider criminal networks.
