Climate experts are warning that Albania could experience extreme weather conditions if the powerful “Super El Niño” phenomenon intensifies in the coming months.
Meteorologists say the country may face unusually high temperatures, prolonged droughts, water shortages, and stronger storms. Some forecasts suggest summer temperatures could exceed 40°C, creating serious risks for agriculture, tourism, and public health.
Experts also warn that irregular rainfall and heatwaves may put additional pressure on Albania’s water and energy systems, while increasing the danger of wildfires across several regions.
Scientists continue to monitor the phenomenon closely, urging authorities to strengthen emergency preparedness and climate protection measures before conditions worsen.
