Samoel Rrasa Wins Silver and Becomes Vice World Champion in Youth Weightlifting in Egypt

 18-year-old Albanian athlete Samoel Rrasa has secured the silver medal and been crowned vice world champion at the Youth World Weightlifting Championships in Egypt.

At the Youth World Weightlifting Championships held in Egypt, Albania’s rising star Samoel Rrasa delivered a standout performance in the 65 kg category, marking one of the most significant achievements in his young sporting career.

Rrasa, aged 18, lifted 134 kg in the snatch discipline, earning him second place in that segment of the competition. In the combined total (clean & jerk and snatch), he recorded 290 kg overall, finishing fourth in the world ranking for the category. His performance ultimately secured him the title of vice world champion, bringing a silver medal home for Albania.

The championship brought together the best young weightlifters from around the world, making Rrasa’s result a major milestone not only for his personal career but also for Albanian weightlifting on the international stage.
