Masked Suspects Steal Jewelry Worth 700,000 Lek in Kamëz Jewelry Store Robbery, Albania

The incident occurred yesterday when two unidentified individuals entered a jewelry store in the city of Kamëz, owned by a local businessman identified by initials O.L. According to early reports, one of the suspects is believed to have been armed during the robbery, raising concerns about the level of threat posed during the incident.

The stolen items include a collection of gold and silver jewelry, with the total value of the goods estimated at approximately 7 million lek in older valuation terms, according to inventory checks completed after the theft. The discrepancy in reported figures is being clarified by authorities as the investigation continues.

Immediately after the robbery was reported, Albanian police units arrived at the scene and established checkpoints across key access routes in Kamëz. Officers are currently conducting extensive area searches and reviewing surveillance footage from the jewelry store and nearby businesses.

Journalistic sources, including reporting from Top Channel journalist Dorjana Bezat, indicate that investigators have not yet identified or apprehended the suspects. However, CCTV footage has reportedly helped authorities reconstruct the escape route used by the perpetrators, providing a potential lead in the ongoing investigation.

While no arrests have been made so far, police efforts remain focused on analyzing digital evidence and identifying the individuals involved. The case has drawn attention due to the boldness of the robbery and the use of masks and possible weaponry in a populated commercial area.

Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the suspects had prior knowledge of the store’s layout or security measures. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates are expected as forensic analysis and witness statements are processed.
