The Football Federation of Albania (FSHF) and the Football Federation of Kosovo are set to celebrate a symbolic football event marking the 10th anniversary of Kosovo’s admission to UEFA, with a special veterans’ match bringing together former players from both nations in Prishtina.
The friendly encounter between the veteran teams of Albania and Kosovo will take place on 3 May 2026 at the FFK complex in Hajvali, forming part of a broader programme dedicated to commemorating Kosovo’s decade-long UEFA membership. The event is designed to strengthen sporting ties and celebrate shared football heritage between the two countries.
According to FSHF, the occasion will begin with an official opening ceremony attended by football officials and representatives from both federations. The programme will also include additional sporting and community activities before the main match kicks off at 14:00 local time.
The veterans’ match represents more than a sporting fixture, serving as a symbolic gesture of unity between Albanian and Kosovar football communities. Former national team players and well-known football figures from both sides are expected to participate, contributing to a festive and emotional atmosphere.
FSHF emphasized that the event reflects the continued cooperation between the two federations and highlights the importance of football as a bridge between nations with shared cultural and historical ties. The 10-year milestone of Kosovo’s UEFA membership provides a significant backdrop for this celebratory match.
The initiative also underscores ongoing efforts to promote friendship, sportsmanship, and collaboration within the region’s football development structures, reinforcing long-standing connections between Albanian football institutions and the Football Federation of Kosovo.
