Representatives of Albania’s Democratic Party officially notified Tirana Police of plans to organize a political gathering on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 19:00 local time. The demonstration is scheduled to take place on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, directly in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, one of the country’s most politically symbolic locations.

In accordance with Albania’s law on public gatherings, Tirana Police confirmed that operational measures have been implemented to ensure the smooth conduct of the event and to maintain public order. Authorities stated that traffic movement and vehicle parking would be restricted in multiple areas surrounding the boulevard, beginning late on May 7 and continuing until the conclusion of the rally.

Police announced that from 23:45 on May 7, vehicle movement and parking will be prohibited along “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, from the area known as “Ura e Dajtit” to “Ismail Qemali” Street. Additional road closures will take effect from 15:00 on May 8, impacting routes near the Ministry of Interior, Mother Teresa Square, as well as “Ukraina e Lirë,” “Papa Gjon Pali II,” and “Ismail Qemali” streets.

The gathering is expected to draw political supporters and public attention, as Albania continues to experience heightened political activity ahead of key national developments. Tirana Police have urged organizers to respect the approved schedule and location, while also calling on citizens to cooperate with temporary traffic disruptions and avoid any unlawful actions that may threaten public safety.
