UK Court Sentences Albanian Gang Over £3M Cannabis Network in West Yorkshire

Six Albanian nationals have been sentenced to prison in the United Kingdom after being exposed as part of a large-scale cannabis cultivation network worth more than £3 million in West Yorkshire.

The individuals—Armand Hysa, Klevis Hysa, Kosta Dumani, Selman Hysa, Admir Cerpja, and Klodian Bofja—pleaded guilty to managing five cannabis “farms,” according to proceedings at Leeds Crown Court. The group operated in a structured manner, with clearly divided roles within the criminal network.

Court findings revealed that Armand Hysa and his uncle, Selman Hysa, played leading roles in overseeing the operation, including the supply and distribution of the наркотик. Authorities described the network as highly organized, with operations spread across multiple properties, including residential homes and business premises.

During coordinated police raids, officers discovered fully equipped indoor cultivation sites containing hundreds of cannabis plants. These facilities were fitted with advanced lighting, ventilation systems, and other specialized equipment designed to maximize production. In one of the largest seizures, police uncovered approximately 250 kilograms of cannabis with an estimated street value of up to £2.5 million. In another location, 983 plants were found, alongside significant quantities of packaged cannabis ready for sale.

In addition to drugs, authorities confiscated cash, luxury watches, and high-end vehicles, including Range Rover, Porsche, and Mercedes G-Wagon models. Prosecutors argued that these assets demonstrated substantial financial gains generated by the illegal activity.

The court highlighted Selman Hysa’s central role in maintaining contact with property owners where the cannabis farms operated, while Armand Hysa was identified as a key organizer within the group. Sentencing reflected their level of involvement: Selman Hysa received the longest sentence of 39 months, followed by Armand Hysa with 32 months and Klevis Hysa with 27 months. Kosta Dumani was sentenced to 24 months, Admir Cerpja to 23.5 months, and Klodian Bofja to 8 months in prison.

UK authorities continue to target organized cannabis production networks, which often operate covertly using sophisticated setups and coordinated criminal structures.
