Albania and Italy have formalized a new strategic agreement for the production of military vessels at the Pashaliman shipyard.
The deal was signed between Italian shipbuilding giant Fincantieri and KAYO, marking a significant step in defense industry cooperation between the two countries. The project will focus on manufacturing military ships at the Pashaliman facility, a key maritime asset in southern Albania.
In an official statement, the Italian Embassy in Albania described the agreement as one of the most important Italian investments in the country, underlining its strategic and economic impact. The partnership is expected to boost local industry, create jobs, and strengthen Albania’s naval capabilities.
The agreement also reflects growing bilateral ties between Albania and Italy, particularly in defense, infrastructure, and economic development. Analysts say the project could position Albania as a regional hub for naval production and maintenance in the Adriatic.
