The Albanian government has officially released the agenda for the 4th Diaspora Summit, scheduled to take place in Tirana on April 14–15, 2026. This high-level event aims to gather professionals, entrepreneurs, and experts from across the globe to foster a new era of cooperation between the homeland and its citizens abroad.
A Vision for "Albania 2030"
Under the slogan "One nation, one heart, one future," the summit is designed as a strategic platform to integrate the diaspora's expertise into the national development framework. Prime Minister Edi Rama, who is overseeing the event, emphasized that this gathering is not merely symbolic but a "concrete platform" to align the global Albanian community with the Albania 2030 vision and the country’s journey toward the European Union.
The two-day event will focus on several key pillars:
- Economic Innovation: Leveraging diaspora investment and entrepreneurship.
- Technology and Education: Creating academic and professional networks to share knowledge.
- Cultural Identity: Strengthening the bonds of language and heritage for new generations.
Strengthening Institutional Ties
Organized by the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs and the National Diaspora Agency, the summit follows a historic turning point in engagement. Discussions will center on transforming this relationship into "fresh energy" for the country's development. Officials have noted that the event provides a space for dialogue where international experience meets national priorities.
Beyond the formal sessions, the summit serves as a venue for networking among Albanians from the Balkans, including Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, alongside the wider global community. This regional inclusivity highlights the role of the diaspora as a unifying force and a bridge connecting Albania with the international stage.
Registration and Participation
The Albanian authorities have invited all compatriots to contribute their ideas and experiences. Participation is open to all who wish to play an active role in shaping the social and economic future of the country. As the summit approaches, Tirana prepares to welcome the "return home" of its most vital global asset: its people.
