Vlora: Three Police Officers Placed Under House Arrest for Corruption and Abuse of Duty

The Police Oversight Agency has executed a decision of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO), imposing the personal security measure “House Arrest” on three police officers of the Orikum Police Station in Vlora.

The officers placed under house arrest are:

D. L., Crime Inspector
A. J., Station Chief
A. F., Community Policing Specialist

They are suspected of committing the criminal offenses of “Passive Corruption of Persons Exercising Public Functions,” in cooperation, and “Abuse of Office.”
Investigations conducted by SPAK revealed that in September of last year, the police officers allegedly requested and received 270,000 Albanian lekë from a citizen in exchange for avoiding criminal liability. Following several months of investigation using special investigative methods, their involvement in corrupt practices and abuse of office was documented.

Investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
