Among those arrested is N.K., an employee of the Prison Police who served in the internal regime of the Elbasan Penitentiary Institution (IEVP). He is suspected of smuggling narcotic substances into the prison in exchange for payment.

The security measures against the three individuals under investigation were executed on January 22, 2026, by the judicial police services of the General Directorate of Prisons.
