 A groundbreaking archaeological discovery has been reported in the village of Strikçan, Bulqizë, where the first monumental tomb from the Roman period has been uncovered in Albania. Experts describe the finding as one of the most significant archaeological revelations of recent years.

The structure, identified as a mausoleum, displays rare architectural and epigraphic elements that shed new light on the Roman presence in the region. Measuring approximately 9 by 6 meters with a funerary chamber standing 2.40 meters high, the tomb represents an impressive feat of ancient construction.

What makes this discovery particularly remarkable is a bilingual inscription in Latin and Greek — the first of its kind ever found in the Dibra area.
