On September 20, 2024, following the prosecution’s request, the Kukës court ordered the confiscation of three properties registered under Dauti and his family members. These include:
-
A 100 m² commercial unit
-
A 64 m² plot of land with a 64 m² building
-
A 30 m² property (registered as asset no. 7/285-N3)
Authorities suspect these assets originate from criminal activity.
Currently, Fatjon Dauti is under arrest in London, accused of attempted murder. He was apprehended by UK police with 3 kilograms of cocaine and charged with participating in organized criminal activity. Previously, he was investigated by the UK’s National Crime Agency for drug trafficking and money laundering.
The Kukës Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that the confiscation is part of its broader efforts to tackle the laundering of criminal proceeds under Article 287 of the Albanian Criminal Code.
This case highlights the growing cooperation between Albanian and British law enforcement agencies in dismantling organized crime networks and cutting off illegal assets tied to narcotics and violent crime.
