The incident occurred during the night of August 10, when the suspects allegedly broke into the home of an elderly couple with the intent to rob the property. According to investigators, the 70-year-old homeowner was struck with a crowbar and kicked to the ground as the intruders demanded valuables. The couple’s mobile phones and several personal belongings were taken, though the attempt to force open a safe reportedly failed, Italian state police say.

Following swift investigations, authorities were able to identify and apprehend the three alleged perpetrators. During a search of their residence, police recovered bags, jewelry, and cash amounting to €15,000. Officers also seized equipment believed to have been used in the robbery, including crowbars, gloves, walkie-talkies, screwdrivers, and clothing worn on the night of the attack.

Further inquiries uncovered the presence of two additional Albanian nationals, aged 27 and 28, who had entered Italy just a day earlier. Both men, who have no prior criminal records and no fixed residence, are suspected of planning to join the group for future burglaries.

Authorities continue to investigate whether the suspects may be linked to other robberies in the region.
