Major Anti-Drug Operation Unfolds in Milan Area, Targets Albanian-Led Network

The operation, conducted by the Carabinieri of the Pioltello Company under the direction of the Investigative Judge of the Milan Court, led to the execution of three pre-trial detention orders and targeted six additional individuals across the provinces of Milan and Palermo, according to Italian media reports.

Thanks to wiretaps and extensive surveillance efforts, investigators documented drug sales taking place in public spaces, primarily involving individuals of Albanian nationality. Key drug storage locations were identified, including a private residence and a commercial establishment, both of which were used to store narcotics and collect proceeds from trafficking activities.

The investigation revealed that the organization was led by three Albanian nationals, aged 46, 43, and 48, who were responsible not only for distributing narcotics but also for managing the network’s logistics, maintaining supplier contacts, and resolving internal disputes.

In addition to the arrests, authorities seized ten bank, postal, and deposit accounts linked to those involved in the operation. The accounts contained funds believed to be the profits of illicit drug trafficking activities.

This operation marks a significant step in Italy’s ongoing efforts to dismantle organized crime networks and cut off financial channels that sustain the drug trade.
