Mira Mezini, An Exceptional Albanian Scientist, Awarded LOEWE Top Professorship Prize

 Albanian scientist, Prof. Dr. Ing. Mira Mezini, an external member of the Albanian Academy of Sciences, has once again been recognized with a prestigious accolade, the LOEWE Top Professorship Prize. This award secures approximately 1.9 million euros for Prof. Mezini over a period of five years for her scientific research on the fundamentals of programming for the development of secure and reliable decentralized interactive learning software systems.

The LOEWE program is a research promotion initiative funded by the federal state of Hesse since 2008, aimed at identifying research policy trends with the objective of providing sustainable impetus to the research landscape of Hesse. LOEWE stands for "Landes-Offensive zur Entwicklung wissenschaftlich-ökonomischer Exzellenz" (State Offensive for the Development of Scientific and Economic Excellence).

Biography:
Mira Mezini is a professor of computer science at the Technical University of Darmstadt (Germany), a visiting professor in several countries worldwide, including the United Kingdom. She serves as Vice President of the Technical University of Darmstadt for technology transfer and later for research and innovation. Prof. Mezini expressed her gratitude to the Albanian Academy of Sciences for electing her as an external member during the solemn assembly of the Academy, Diaspora Shqiptare reports.

She personally thanked the President of the Academy of Sciences, Skënder Gjinushi, for bestowing this status at a time when her favorite professor serves as President, recalling his lectures on mathematical analysis. Mira Mezini is the author of 233 indexed scientific articles in the Scopus List and 293 articles cited in Research Gate, with around 7,000 citations. She is considered an excellent scientific researcher with international recognition and appreciation in critical areas of computer science such as programming languages and paradigms, automated software development, program analysis, and software security. She is also a co-founder of the sub-discipline on the paradigm of object-oriented software development, establishing new scientific principles in the field.

Prof. Mezini's achievements continue to inspire the scientific community and exemplify the potential for groundbreaking research emerging from Albania.
