The success achieved by Zelimkhan Abakarov, a wrestler from Dagestan, naturalized with an Albanian passport, reminded us of the many medals that Albanians has "won" over the years, for other countries.

Albania, which is already rightfully celebrating the historic result, such as the title of world champion in wrestling, years ago saw the Bulgarians enjoying such an achievement with a red and black wrestler.

Elis Guri, in 2011, would climb the Bulgarian flag to the highest step of the podium at the World Championships, winning gold medals in the 96 kg weight class. Guri left Albania in 2008, after the Albanian state did not meet his economic demands.

But in addition to the medal that "ran away" toward in Bulgaria, Albania has seent a "bag" of medals to Greece. Just to mention here the weightlifters Pirro Dhima, three-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion, and one-time European champion. Luan Shabani, two-time world champion, two-time European champion, and 2-time Olympic runner-up.

The Albanian Athlete Mirela Manjani, Olympic runner-up, two-time world champion, and one-time European champion for Greece. Or even the latest talent from athletics, the 20-year-old Elina Xhengo, who has been declared European champion for the Hellenic state.
