 Vangjush Mio Museum House in Korça opens its doors today on Christmas Day.

The news was announced by the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, who stressed that "only two months have passed since we visited the house of Mio, which due to earthquake damage, was closed to the public."

"On Christmas day it opened the doors again, thanks to the commitment of the Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage Korca, giving many visitors to the city, which is not only serenaded, to enjoy the magic of Vangjush Mios's painting," said Margariti.

The apartment museum of the People's Painter, Vangjush Mio, is one of the most visited in the city of Korça. Because of the ethnographic values ​​it carries and for the fact that one of the most prominent Albanian painters was born there, this house has been declared a museum - house.

During his 40-year career, Vangjush Mio realized over 400 drawings and 130 paintings.

About 60 of his works are in the collection of the National Gallery of Arts in Tirana. The other works, under the care of his daughter, Rozeta, are exhibited in his house-museum.
