Most German businesses in Albania assess the current economic situation with a negative grade and expect its further improvement. The German Association of Industry and Trade in Albania ( known as DIHA) has published the results of the annual survey on the business and investment climate in Albania.

Bledar Mankollari, Executive Director of DIHA, told Euronews Albania that this year's questionnaire also reflected the real effects of the pandemic, while the positive projection for the future, he said, is related to openness and hope that this will positively affect economic growth.

Mr. Mankollari explained that the most interesting sectors that Albania offers and consequently are more liked to invest by German entrepreneurs have been and are natural and human resources.

"Natural resources include tourism, underground minerals, while human resources are manufactured by industry, but also large projects such as TAP and energy," said Mr. Mankollari.

According to him, the concerns faced by German investors in Albania remain the fight against corruption, crime, but also the concern for the public administration where the questionnaire shows that there is a need for deep reform to make it efficient for the business.
