The German Development Bank will provide 100m euros for the development of the power system. The loan agreement was signed this Tuesday at the Ministry of Finance.

The power system will be further reformed and strengthened, as a 100m-euro loan has just been signed between the government and the German Development Bank, at the Ministry of Finance and Economy.

"The government has pledged to continue the work for several years now, a work which has some concrete results, making the full operation of the Energy Exchange or otherwise APEX and the gradual opening of the retail market, along with the creation of a competitive energy market ", said Anila Denaj, Minister of Finance and Economy

On the other hand, the Ambassador of Germany in Albania, Peter Zingraf, said that Germany is one of the main allies to support our country.

"The German government supports the reform of the transformation of the energy market in Albania, which is an important step on Albania's path to the European Union, as it aims to create a transparent market that will stimulate Albania's economic growth and facilitate private sector investment in the energy market", said Peter Zingraf.

The soft loan of 100 million euros has a maturity of 12 years, including a period of 3 years without principal payment.
