The Albanian Parliament voted this Wednesday with 104 votes in favor, 7 against and 3 abstentions the dismissal of President Ilir Meta.

After a session that lasted more than four hours, the Assembly for the first time in 30 years managed to dismiss the head of state before the end of his term.

114 deputies participated in the session to dismiss the President of the Republic of Albania.

After the decision, the spokesman of the President of the Republic also reacted, saying that today's action of the Assembly is ridiculous.

"Zero concern over the unconstitutional and ridiculous decision of the monist parliamentary landfill, which will enter as a case study in the world history of the politics; how can an Assembly without opposition, which although dismissed by the people, votes for the dismissal of another institution", Writes Tedi Blushi.

With a harsh language, which seemed to be addressed directly to Prime Minister Rama, Mr. Blushi says that the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta, is not at all disturbed by the actions that, according to him, are being carried out by “the border trader of Albania and Kosovo, partners and vassals of the oligarchs, the incinerator mafia, robbers of votes, money, and properties of the Albanians”.

He adds that the head of state is motivated to protect the sovereignty and integrity of Albania.

The Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry set up to investigate the activity of President Ilir Meta during the elections of April 25 has considered "serious violations" the attitudes and statements expressed by him.

The final 96-page report, which was reviewed by Euronews Albania, states that "the President violated 17 articles of the Constitution" and that "these violations are considered by the commission as serious violations."

Meanwhile, the head of state has called the current Assembly "unconstitutional" and does not represent the interest of Albanians.

The final seal for the dismissal or not of the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta is already in the hands of the Constitutional Court, a process that seems to take time.
