Rama, Basha, and many Albanian candidates with problems in decriminalisation self-declaration form

The Central Election Commission (ECE) in Albania has published the self-declaration forms for 1842 candidates for deputy in the April 25 elections. Euronews Albania has identified that in the documents submitted to the CEC, some errors in spelling, or even shortcomings in the self-declaration of many candidates.

Prime Minister Rama has left unanswered one of the questions on the form, while the leader of PD Basha has not declared the complete data. In the 8th question on the form, where it is required to know if the candidate for deputy has lived for more than 1 month outside Albania, Prime Minister Rama answered "no".

This statement of Rama in the form is also refuted by the attached CV, a few lines below where it is said that after the fall of the communist regime he went to live for several years in France. While the shortcoming for Basha is related to the addresses of the apartments for the 7 years when he lived in Utrecht, the Netherlands, and for 4 years that he lived and worked in Prishtina.

But, even in the forms of other candidates for deputies, there are spelling mistakes, as well as ambiguity in what they have stated, as a large part of them have filled in handwriting.

Despite the observed shortcomings, the self-declaration forms of the candidates for deputies were accepted by the CEC.
