Kosovar producers are leaving the Serbian market due to obstacles

The fruit juices produced by the Kosovar company Frutomania have penetrated the market of South Africa and many other countries, including the Middle East.

However, in the neighboring country, Serbia, this company has never exported, due to the constant barriers they have had.

The owner of this company, Armend Malazogu, tells Radio Free Europe that they have tried several times to export to Serbia, but their trucks have been sent back.

"One of the reasons, and the only and main one, is that the code of the Republic of Kosovo is not registered in the customs code of Serbia and as such the Customs finds it impossible for the Kosovo product to enter the Serbian market. Let's not talk then that the phytosanitary certificates issued by Kosovo institutions are not recognized by the Serbian ones, so it makes it impossible for us to export to the Serbian state", says Malazogu.

But this is not the only case, there are dozens of similar cases that face the same obstacles.
