Romanian Prime Minister Ludovic Orban fined for failing to respect social distance

 The Romanian prime minister paid a fine of 550 euros for indoor smoking and holding a meeting at the government building, where some ministers and other participants did not respect the social distance against the spread of coronavirus.

The photos published in the Romanian media show Prime Minister Ludovic Orban and others while smoking on the table with snacks and bottles of alcohol. None of the people in the photo wore masks and did not respect the rule of social distance.

Orban told the Madiafax news agency that the photo was taken on May 25 for his birthday. Among the participants was the Romanian Foreign Minister and the Minister of Economy.

So far, 19,133 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania, while 1,259 people have lost their lives..
