Adnan Polat met with Sinan Idrizi, partner of Air Albania and president of the Flamurtari sports club. Idrizi had told Polat that a company called Global Fluids International (GFI) was doing a very lucrative business in Albania and he could help him if he wanted to buy the company.
According to the lawsuit, Sinan Idrizi told Polat that the company was on sale for $ 17 million, and $ 3.5 million would be a guarantee, and if the sale did not take place then the guarantee would be refunded.
Polat had prepared a draft agreement for the purchase of shares in November 2016. After the contract, Idrizi said company officials had demanded that the money be transferred from him in the capacity of trustee and not through the bank. Thus Polat had sent the prepayment fee to the businessman's account after the contract of sale they had signed.
According to the news of the journalist Dilek Yaman published in the newspaper Sabah, Idrizi had called Polat to inform him that there were elections in Albania and the project would be realized after the elections. After the 2017 elections, the sale did not take place.
Adnan Polat had then demanded the return of $ 3.5 million and the cancellation of the contract of sale. But Sinan Idrizi did not accept, so the businessman filed a lawsuit with the Prosecutor's Office for fraud, and investigations have begun.
