In the framework of measures taken to stop the spread of coronavirus in Albania, the government decided that pensions would be sent home to retirees at no extra cost. This will avoid queues and waiting times. The administrator of the Albanian Post said that until yesterday the pension was sent to about 300 thousand retirees.

Meanwhile, about 40 thousand pensioners have not yet received their pension, wherein the district of Tirana alone there are 4800 people. Pensioners have been advised that in order to benefit from this service they must send their phone number, exact address and ID card to the post office.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MFE) is cooperating with the Association of Banks for the distribution of pensions to those who cannot withdraw money from the bank.

"Concerning the concern created in recent days about the inability of retirees to withdraw their pension to these banks, MFE has agreed with the Association of Banks that the latter will find the opportunity to send their pension home in the bank.

The service will be provided by bank structures and at no additional cost to retirees.

All those pensioners who could not withdraw their pension from the bank are asked to communicate directly with the banks, which will immediately take appropriate measures to send them home,” the ministry said in a statement.
