The outgoing Minister of Infrastructure and Transport in the Government of Kosovo, Pal Lekaj has authorized Xhema Veseli, Director of the Department of Land and Infrastructure, and Rame Çupeva, Director of Road Infrastructure, to lead negotiations for the restoration of the railway line with Serbia.

Working groups from Kosovo and Serbia will meet in Berlin, Germany on Monday, to discuss with US Special Envoy for Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Richard Grenell about the establishment of a railway line between the two countries.

Speaking to media, Lekaj said that the Kosovo side was prepared to reach an agreement.

In addition to the rail line, on January 20, 2020, delegations from Pristina and Belgrade, with the mediation of US diplomats, signed a letter of interest for the opening of the airline between Pristina and Belgrade.

The German company, Lufthansa, will operate on this line.
