Kruja Court freed on bail Endrit Dokle, sentenced to life in prison for a series of murders committed within the Durres gang. The verdict was reached Tuesday afternoon by Judge Enkelejda Hoxha, despite the opposition of the prosecution.

After examining the case for several months, the court ordered the release of Dokle on the grounds that he had served 75% of the sentences, and for the fact that he also had good conduct in prison and some other specific circumstances, that remain to be clarified.

The court's decision, which is in the wake of a series of much-discussed justice system decisions, is expected to be appealed by the Kruja Prosecution. Sources at the prosecution's office said the court had ruled that the law had been misapplied and would, therefore, appeal to the court.

But while the institution will continue to clash with them, Endrit Dokle has already regained freedom.

Dokle, known as Lulzim Berisha's opponent, has been sentenced to life in prison for several murders. He was arrested in 2005 and found guilty of some serious crimes, mainly murder. While in his cell, Dokle received another conviction for drug trafficking after being found to lead a structured criminal group out of the cell.
