Israeli journalist: Turkish Navy repelled the Israeli ship from the Mediterranean

Israeli journalist Barak Ravid reported that the Turkish Navy had repelled an Israeli ship that was conducting research in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Israeli television Channel 13 reporter on its Twitter account wrote that the Turkish Navy ordered the Israeli search ship "Bat Galim" to leave the Eastern Mediterranean.

He said this was a ship in which researchers from Israel and Cyprus had been collaborating on a joint project.

Ravid said that an Israeli official - without mentioning his name - received information that the Turkish Navy had contacted the Israeli ship, ordering it to leave the area.

The Israeli journalist also claims that at the time of the incident, the Israeli search vessel was in the waters under Greek Cypriot control.

Turkey's foreign ministry announced earlier that Ankara would never give up its rights in the Eastern Mediterranean.

"It is pointless to expect our country to obey threats and give up its rights in the Eastern Mediterranean. Let no one doubt that we will continue our research activities as before,” the Turkish ministry said in a statement.
