Erdogan: Turkey to Launch its own Satellite in 2022 - Türksat 6A

 President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday that the Türksat 6A satellite, the first of made in Turkey, will be operational in 2022.

President Erdogan's announcement came during the "Vizyoner" Summit of the Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen of Turkey, whose global communications partner was the Anatolian Agency.

"We are taking revolutionary steps in space technology. We have established the Turkish Space Agency. We launched the Türksat 4A satellite in 2014 and Türksat 4B in 2015," he said.

"With God's permission, we will launch the Türksat 5A satellite next year and in 2021 the Türksat 5B satellite. But more importantly, in 2022 we will be operating the local Türksat 6A satellite," the Turkish head of state added.

The Türksat 6A satellite was developed by the Satellite Mounting, Integration and Testing Center in Ankara.
